Joyfully waiting. That’s one thing the Lord has been teaching me. I’ve realized that the end result of a process is not the most pleasing part to God. I easily become hurried, even when there’s really no reason for a rush, and the Lord has been teaching me about the joy found in Him when I stop. Not just when I slow down and ‘take time to smell the flowers’ but when I truly take pleasure in just standing still with our Father. When I left South Africa, I knew I would be home for a while but I was hoping it would be a semi-short season. God has slowly but surely bent my heart towards His and convinced me that in His timing there is joyful waiting. So, although I look forward to the season when I return to Africa, I’m not taking any steps ahead of God, and I’m learning to enjoy the wait.
